This comprehensive course is designed for rehabilitation professionals seeking to elevate their approach to neck assessment and treatment through objective, data-driven methods. Moving from foundational principles to advanced clinical application, the course equips clinicians with the tools, skills, and clinical reasoning required to accurately evaluate cervical function and translate findings into effective, individualized intervention strategies.
Participants will learn to assess cervical range of motion, strength, and dynamic stability using accessible clinical technologies such as smartphone-based measurement tools and dynamometry. Emphasis is placed on interpreting assessment results using age- and sex-specific normative values to guide clinical decision-making, optimize treatment planning, and improve patient outcomes.
Through detailed demonstrations, case-based learning, and real-world clinical scenarios, learners will explore how objective cervical assessment can enhance patient engagement, support outcome tracking, and strengthen documentation for insurers and third-party stakeholders. The course also introduces emerging innovations in neck assessment, including multi-planar neuromuscular training tools such as the TopSpin360.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Perform objective assessment of cervical range of motion, strength, and dynamic stability using accessible clinical tools.
Interpret objective neck assessment data using age- and sex-based normative values to inform clinical decision-making.
Integrate objective cervical assessment findings into individualized rehabilitation programs for patients with neck pain, whiplash-associated disorders, concussion, headaches/ migraines and dizziness.
Apply principles of multi-planar neuromuscular training to improve cervical function, sensorimotor control, and dynamic stability.
Utilize objective outcome measures to enhance clinical documentation, patient education, and communication with insurers and other stakeholders.
